Dr Nejc Sedlar is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Aberdeen. His PhD research project, conducted at the University of Aberdeen under the supervision of Dr Amy Irwin, looked at the phenomenon of normalisation of deviance within high-risk industries. His past research experience has involved working with the aviation and farming industry looking into relevant non-technical skills and exploring attitudes towards and perceptions of risk. His main research focus is on investigating safety and risk both within organisational contexts as well as outside of these.

Risk perception, tolerance, and engagement in risk taking behaviours, in particular as it relates to occupational and process safety
Engagement in rule/procedure breaking behaviours – the underlying psychological mechanisms affecting the deliberate engagement in deviance and the implementations of interventions
