PhD project funded by the Energy Institute exploring cognitive bias and normalisation of deviance within the energy industry
Research within this branch of the APHF covers a broad range of projects across a variety of industries. The work is an amalgam of human factors aspects and psychological theory, designed to explore perceptual and cognitive topics within the applied context of high risk industry.
Currently this work is focused on four main areas:
- Workplace incivility / rudeness
- Cognitive bias and normalisation of deviance in the Energy Industry
- Visual search and information gathering within the context of aviation
- Attitudes towards risk in the context of farmer ATV helmet wearing
