Chiara Asshoff is currently undertaking her MRes in Psychological Research Skills at the University of Aberdeen as part of an integrated PhD programme together with the Central Flying School of the Royal Air Force.
She graduated with a First Class Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Aberdeen in 2023. Her undergraduate thesis explored the perceptions of non-technical skills in offshore helicopter maintenance workers.
Following her MA, Chiara worked as a Graduate Human Factors Engineer at a transport consultancy, where she gained experience in applying Human Factors thinking to different work environments and providing solutions that enhanced human performance and wellbeing and contributed to the safety of work operations.
Her current research focuses on developing a non-technical skills behavioural marker system for fast-jet and helicopter pilots in the Royal Air Force, under the supervision of Dr Amy Irwin, Dr Jonathan Allsop, Dr Nejc Sedlar and Prof Amelia Hunt.
