Dr Griffiths undertook her Ph.D. at the University of Aberdeen, exploring the effects of post-event information on eyewitness recall, confidence and decision-making. She then worked as a researcher and intelligence analyst with Grampian Police (now Police Scotland). Dr Griffiths subsequently completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (University of Glasgow), including specialist placements in neuropsychology. She worked as a Clinical Psychologist for NHS Grampian, providing assessment and therapy for children. She joined the University of Aberdeen as a lecturer in 2025.
