As increasing numbers of students with mental health difficulties are now accessing higher education (Universities UK, 2018) and there is greater recognition of the transitions that University life can bring causing particular stress for students – the drive to better understand and respond to student and staff needs is growing. As part of the University of Aberdeen Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, we are working to (1) increase knowledge about the specific needs and strengths of our students, (2) improve staff confidence in supporting students and (3) better promote student and staff wellbeing.
